How to Shop Local: Elli’s Holiday Gift Guide

As promised, I am here to launch our first gift guide of the How to Shop Local series. I can promise we have not forgotten about Thanksgiving and are completely aware that it is only November 1st…but we also know some of you secretly cranked Mariah Carey on the way to work this morning. Or, if you’re like me, have made a commitment to start my Christmas shopping before December 23rd. True story.

What does Christmas shopping look like for me? Well, I am a dog mom, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a girlfriend, a yogi, a best friend, originally from St. Louis and I love shopping — for myself and others. So, you will see gifts specific to those areas in my life, but also a gifts that apply to everyone and anyone this holiday season. Watch the video above or take a look below at some of my favorite local shops and trinkets that will surely fill the people in your life with joy.

Angel’s Garden, 1208 North 12th Avenue

The magic starts with the bubbles outside! I love Angel’s Garden for plush toys and children’s books from local authors for my 5 year old niece and locally made jewelry, gifts and artwork that are easily shippable and meaningful to my out of town friends. You simply can’t stop smiling from the moment you pull into the parking lot. Local owners Debbie and her mother, Mary will happily show you through the store and even gift wrap your items for you.

Pensacola Hardware, 20 East Gregory St.

A Pensacola classic since 1851! Most people don’t think of Hardware stores as a one-stop-shop for gifts, but Pensacola Hardware can 100% be a one stop shop! From Yeti’s and fishing gear for the outdoorsmen in your life to cutting boards, dish towels, homemade dog treats and more. I was able to cross my pups, dad, brothers and white elephant gift off the list at this stop. You’ll immediately feel the nostalgia when you walk in and if you’re lucky, be greeted by the shop springer spaniel.

Artesana, 242 W Garden St.

If you haven’t been here, this is your sign! I absolutely love all the “Pensacola” items here. The neutral colored “Pensacola” sweater I got here has easily become a staple in my closet and everyone wants to know where I got it. Find classic Christmas decor like ornaments and yummy candles and don’t skip the table with endless options of Coffee Table books. The perfect spot to shop for yourself, your Great Aunt Ruth and any of your Christmas party hosting or attending needs.

A Bead and Crystal Shop, 711 W Garden Street

Where are all my energy healers, hippies, and good vibes people? I am obsessed with this store for healing stones, tapestries, incense, handmade jewelry and all things good energy. One of my favorite stocking stuffers can be found here — mini pocket stress stones perfect for all those over achievers, late night workers and stressed out folks in your life. Find meaningful, eccentric and feel-good gifts here, with plenty that are under $25 too!

Bodyworks of Perdido Key, 12385 Sorrento Road, Ste. D1

GREAT things come in small packages. This is one of my favorite spas in Pensacola and I love treating my mom to a gift card here because she normally won’t spend money pampering herself. Cindy, the owner, has been in business for over 9 years and her spa and employees are immaculate! I am also slightly addicted their wide range of Eminence and Lost Range skincare products.

And there you have it! Stay tuned tomorrow to see who will catch my magic hat and sleigh ride you over to their holiday pit stops.
