Creek Fest Event This Weekend

The Santa Rosa Band of the Lower Muscogee hosts their annual Creek Fest presented by Eglin Federal Credit Union starting tomorrow.

The festival will take place November 18th – 19th from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM each day on the Tribal Grounds located at 4750 Willard Norris Rd, Milton, FL 32570.
There will be nationally recognized Native American entertainment by the following artists each day:
• Billy Whitefox, Nominated for Native American Music Award Artist of the Year
• Lowery Begay, Schemitzun Hoop Dance Champion
• Michael DeMaria, Author and Four-Time Grammy Nominated Artist
• Jamie Empert, Native Rhythms Festival Flute Award winner & nominated Best Song Solo Flute
The festival will also include Pow Wow Drum by Drum of the Red Boys Drum Group, Pow Wow Style Dancing, and traditional Creek Stomp Dancing by Living Creek Village.
Guided Tours given by guides dressed in early 1800s traditional clothing. There will also be a re-enactment of the Battle of Chumuckla between Creeks and Soldiers, traditional Creek food cooking demonstrations, authentic Hunting Camp,  and weapons demonstrations.
There will be hands-on crafts for the children, traditional and contemporary food and drinks. You don’t want to miss traditional Indian Roasted Corn and Fry Bread!
General admission for this event is $5.00  and kids under 7 are FREE.
Parking on the grounds is free.
This celebration of Creek Indian Heritage and Culture will be a fun learning experience for the whole family.
