Holy Moments Are Happening, All The Time

I’ve always considered my style of writing as “pick up and write.”

This leaves room for a wide variety of expressions and even more room for error in my technique.

Writing has lived in my toolbox of essentials since I can remember. Collections of notebooks full of sketches, poems, natural findings, and prayers. Lined up in chronological order, my bookshelf holds this series of said notebooks dating back to childhood.

Keepsakes that have traveled along with every move.

I’ve told my family that my biggest asset at the moment would more than likely be my notebooks. Something tells me that there is an idea, an entry, or a God-sized prayer waiting to be answered living in one of those notebooks.

When I was approached with the opportunity to write for the Local Pulse, one of those prayers from one of those notebooks was answered.

Prayer request: Write my own column.

As this fire to write has burned brighter over the years, I’ve been praying about, practicing, and processing all of this writing.

As the tortoise moved, slowly and with intent – My identity as a whole started to reveal itself.

My identity as a follower of Jesus Christ.

My identity as a woman.

My identity as a mother.

My identity as a professional.

My identity as a teacher.

My identity as a daughter.

My identity as a sister and friend.

Writing has uncovered A LOT.

The more that is revealed, the bigger the challenge is of narrowing down what might be worth reading for people like you.

As those who take risks know best, leaps of faith are never as scary when you aren’t worried about what lies on the other side. Emphasis on the word worry.

Philippians 4:13 tells us “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”

There is no room for worry in the leap when the Lord is with you.

Many mumbled words, bulleted lists, spelling errors, and mindless writing sessions have led to this.

A column called Holy Moments.

Follow along for a dive into the everyday moments. Each moment is precious, and each moment only happens once in a lifetime. When we start living this way, life is more full and vibrant. Even in the mundane.

Moments that heal, offer a new perspective, plant seeds of good news, and maybe make you laugh out loud or smile every once in a while. These moments that I’ll share with you are an encouragement for you to share your holy moments too.

Holy moments are accessible to all, as long as you are open to experiencing them. My hope is that these words help open your mind, body, and spirit to receiving the goodness that is God’s presence in all of the little details.

I look forward to sharing more with you. Opening doors with you. And creating space for us to all live a more fulfilling life.

God is good, all the time.
