Santa Rosa Medical Center will offer the following Childbirth Education Classes in October.
The classes will meet in Santa Rosa Medical Center’s Locklin Education building, and registration is required. If these classes are full, you can send them an email to discuss other options. The classes are free.
Childbirth Prep:
Tuesday, October 10, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
This class will prepare participants for what to expect during labor, delivery and recovery. This may help reduce the anxiety for the hospital stay. It also includes information about the Baby Suite and pain management education, including epidurals and nitrous oxide use in labor.
Newborn Care:
Tuesday, October 17, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
This class will prepare participants for caring for their newborn. This class is designed for first-time parents, or those looking to refresh their memory.
Breastfeeding:
Tuesday, October 24, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
This class will prepare participants for their breastfeeding journey. Breastfeeding is a natural process that is not only nutritionally sound but also a beautiful and intimate way of getting to know your newborn. It is also designed to answer questions about breastfeeding and to help participants learn to successfully breastfeed.
