Tails are wagging for Pawdi Gras Sponsorships

A good time was had by all, but a GREAT time was had by Dannie at the Pawdi Gras Sponsorship Social last week. If you figured it out yet, Dannie is the one in the photos getting belly rubs, treats and head scratches. Dannie is also ready to be adopted into his furever home if you or someone you know is looking for a pawsome, sweet pup to snuggle up with. Reach out to Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare if you’re interested in adopting Dannie or another one of their perfect pooches.

Local Pulse is honored to be on the Pawdi Gras sponsorship team this year with so many other like minded, dog-loving small businesses in Pensacola. Wolfgang LLC business owners Jessica and Kim Wolford’s unconditional love for every dog in Escambia County paired with our own passion to help pups in our community is one of the many reasons why we got involved this year.

January 28, 2024 will be the third annual Pensacola Pawdi Gras event. During the Ist and 2nd Pawdi Gras they worked with over 20 local businesses to safely shut down the roads and created an atmosphere that was dog and family friendly. Even more impressive, the event generated over $50,000 to the local economy each year. With over 4,000 attendees and 500 dogs in the parade last year, we can’t wait to help surpass these numbers in 2024.

This year’s benefactor will be the Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare. The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare consists of the Animal Welfare and Adoption Center and the Animal Welfare Enforcement division. Animal Welfare works in partnership with the community to create a safe, healthy and caring environment for both citizens and animals. The division promotes citizen safety, responsible pet ownership and education in the reduction of animal overpopulation. Animal Control enforces and investigates Escambia County’s animal control ordinances and Florida state statutes in Escambia County and the City of Pensacola. They currently house over 100 shelter dogs and over 30 cats.
