Brand new local nonprofit Life’s A Dance with Victor and Melanie Luna, presented a star-studded evening of dance on Thursday, June 15th, featuring local celebrity couples and solo dancers; world professional championship dancers, Travis & Jaimee Tuft; and the cast members from ABC’s hit television series Dancing with the Stars including Emma Slater, Gleb Savchenko, and Tristan Mac Manus. Proceeds from this glamourous evening benefited both C.A. Weis Elementary School’s Care Closet and Feeding the Gulf Coast’s Pantry Program, a Greater Pensacola Chamber Leadership Pensacola Class of 2023 ‘The MOST’ class project.
Friday, September 8th, Victor and Melanie Luna were accompanied by Life’s A Dance 2023 cast members as they presented a $6,000 and stacks of peanut butter and grape jelly in efforts to continue filling the C.A. Weis Elementary School Care Closet with hygienic items and food to sustain the children’s continued needs and daily life necessities.
“The mission of Life’s A Dance 501(c)3 is to care for the underserved children of our community in hopes to transcend the cultural and socioeconomic divides with the universal language of dance. Too often young children take on grown responsibilities, trials, and tribulations. We hope to bring relief where we can, allowing the space for children to be just that: children. To dance. To create art. To laugh and learn.” Luna said.
Stay tuned for a mini ribbon cutting at Feeding the Gulf Coast’s Wedgewood Community Center Kid’s Room—tentatively scheduled near the end of October, when construction will be completed by Dominguez Design-Build in collaboration with Hester Brothers Manufacturing.
C.A. Weis Elementary School’s Care Closet and Feeding the Gulf Coast’s Pantry Program will also be two of the beneficiaries for Life’s A Dance: Friends of Foo Foo Fest Series, taking place Wednesday, November 8th at WSRE Pensacola.
