The Weekend Top 10 is a list of ten events happening this weekend in or around Pensacola.

  1. Saturday, August 19 from 6:30 p.m. – August 21 at 12:30 a.m. Blue Moon Paddle at Glow Paddle. Paddle under a full moon in crystal clear kayaks while lights illuminate the water underneath you.   2. Ongoing through September 9, Daily 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. — Beyond Van Gogh at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds. Immerse yourself in the world of Vincent Van Gogh as you’ve never experienced before. Beyond Van Gogh is a rich and unique multimedia experience, taking the viewer on a journey through over 300 iconic artworks including instantly-recognizable classics “The Starry Night”, “Sunflowers”, and “Café Terrace at Night”, now freed from their frames.   3. Friday, August 18 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Gallery Night, “The Wonder Years,” will celebrate the youth entrepreneurial spirit with a special market zone! As always, there will be plenty of local artists, vendors, and shops to check out, as well as music and food from both food trucks and local restaurants! www.gallerynightpensacola.org
  4. Friday, August 18 from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Cavair Steel Drums Live from Jamaica on the Rooftop at Felix’s Area 3 Sky Bar on Pensacola Beach. Cavair has traveled and played all across Jamaica, in other Caribbean islands, then on cruise ships that took him to places around the world. Have dinner in the main dining room or out on the veranda, then head up to the roof for live music, cold brews, and specialty cocktails. No cover!
  5. Saturday, August 19 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. – 8th Annual Joe Hobbs Glass Seconds Sale at First City Art Center. This is a great opportunity to add to your Joe Hobbs Glass collection or start a new one! During the glass-making process sometimes they make one-offs, prototypes, and unique pieces that aren’t quite as planned. This sale makes those pieces available to the public at a discounted price.
  6. Saturday, August 19 at 1 p.m. Low Country Shrimp Boil at Coastal County Brewing Company. We’ll be bringing in 400lbs of these plump little sea critters, plucked straight from the Gulf and ready for the table. And you can kick back and wash them down with plenty of specialty brews and a full day of Live Music sounding from the Beer Garden Stage.   7. Sunday from 10:30 AM – 11:30 a.m. Free Pilates in the Park at Community Maritime Park. Free one-hour, outdoor pilates classes in the park are presented by Pure Pilates Studio. Open to all ages and levels of experience, and features certified instructors. BYOM (Bring Your Own Mat) and any other accessories you would like to use. Participants are asked to bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated, as water will not be provided until further notice. Classes will meet directly in front of the amphitheater stage at Community Maritime Park
  8. Sunday, August 20 at 6:45 p.m. – Sunset Beach Ride at Ft. Pickens National Seashore. 6:45 pm roll out. Join us for this tremendous fun time on this super scenic cruise ride to Fort Pickens. Great for the family on this secluded part of Pensacola Beach. Any kind of bike will be fine on this 15-miler. Bring your lights and pass or $10 in case needed for the park entry.   9. Sunday, August 20 at 6 p.m. Paint Night at Garden & Grain (Hosted with The Traveling Painter) The cost is $35 and includes all supplies and a drink*! For more information click here.
  10. Sun, Aug 20 at Vinyl Music Hall, The Menzingers. Doors open at 7 p.m., show at 8 p.m.  Punk rock storytellers. “A lot of these songs are looking at different life challenges—they’re stories of people at some sort of crossroads,” Barnett says. “We might not have the answers for anybody, but hopefully the songs will help them to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and know that they’re not alone in whatever tough decisions they’re facing.” Tickets are available here.
