Golden Elite Track & Field Club is delighted to announce the triumphant return of its Junior Olympians from the USATF Junior Olympic National Championship held at the prestigious Nike’s Hayward Field, located at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
The journey leading up to this momentous event has been a testament to the dedication, hard work, and passion. For months, eleven exceptional athletes from the Florida Region 4, Bryson Bivins, Andrew “AJ” Maxwell, Zhuri Walker, Paige Knight, Naryia Simpkins, Andrew Beroset, Xavier Huff, Isaiah Simpson, Mateo Moreno, Emory Hill, and Zamari Purifoy, have poured their hearts and souls into rigorous training to earn the honor of representing their region on the national stage.
During the course of seven action-packed days, these remarkable young athletes showcased their skills and talents in various events, including racewalk, sprinting, distance races, shot put, discus, long jump, and high jump. Their dedication and perseverance were truly inspiring, and they have made Florida Region 4 proud.
Golden Elite is thrilled to recognize the outstanding achievements of two of its own, who have earned the coveted title of USATF Junior Olympic All American Medalists:
Andrew Beroset, age 14 competed in the 15-16 Year Division, and achieved a remarkable 4th place finish in the 3000 meters race with a phenomenal time of 8:52.34.
Zamari Purifoy, age 13 representing the 13-14 Year Division, impressed everyone with a 4th place finish in the 200 meters race, clocking a time of 22.61. Zamari also showcased his prowess in the 400 meters race, securing an admirable 7th place finish with a time of 52.90.
These achievements speak volumes about the dedication and talent of our Junior Olympic team. Golden Elite would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the coaches, families, and supporters who have played an integral role in nurturing and encouraging these young athletes along their journey.
