The family-owned restaurant has doubled in size and welcomed a handful of new additions such as a wrap around bar, hostess and waiting area, merchandise wall, coffee bar, loads of new artwork and larger labels that can accommodate the entire family.

From the moment you walk in you are welcomed with a wide open dining space, bright colors and beautiful local art adorning the walls. Local artist Macy Lyn Wargo painted three large murals on the cafe walls, with one celebrating all things Pensacola and a clear new ‘selfie’ station.

Ashlee Brown, Bert Thornton and Local Pulse Team celebrate Native’s soft opening

On Wednesday, July 26 the restaurant welcomed friends, family, partners and the Local Pulse to their soft opening which continued into the weekend. The love and admiration natives near and far have for this family and their coastal diner is no secret. It was an honor to watch love bless their new space and begin a new Native journey with them.

This past May, the Brown family celebrated their 15th year in business. Not only does this expansion celebrate their success, but it celebrates a legacy. A legacy of family roots that have been planted in Pensacola for decades. Charlie and Joyce Brown (AKA Mama Joyce) opened Native in 2008 to honor their love for our coastal community and 15 years later, their children Arin, Jesse and daughter-in-law Ashlee Brown continue to celebrate their adoration of Pensacola through the memories they are creating at Native Cafe.

Thank you Native for capturing the essence of Pensacola Beach. We believe you are a great representation of what our village is all about. A locally owned, family-run restaurant that celebrates coastal roots and celebrates people —  local natives and visiting natives alike.
