Local Ministries Host Free Surf Camp for Deaf Community

Christian Surfers - Surf Camp

Christian Surfers and surrounding local ministries such as Upper Room Church, FCA, and Three:18 have partnered to host a FREE Surf Camp this Saturday geared towards the deaf community. Three:18 is a small local ministry that recently connected with Christian Surfers and the rest is history.

Three:18’s mission is to share Jesus with the unreached, primarily those who are completely deaf or hearing impaired. The camp this weekend will have trained surf instructors and interpreters on site to make the experience accessible for all.

Surfing is a universal language that captivates all who have the chance to experience it. There is something about being out in the water or watching a surfer on a wave that brings you to that awe state.

Making sports adaptive takes intentionality and thought toward how to keep all participants safe. Although the physical act of surfing may not be accessible to all, it can be enjoyed as art by any.

Whether you are a surfer or a learner, all are welcome to this free event. See the details below:

Following the surf camp on Saturday evening, there will be a free dinner and presentation by Laura Matera, VP of Action Sports for FCA. The dinner will be first come first serve and is geared towards women of all ages.

All of these organizations are coming together for more reasons than one. Each organization loves serving others, the water, good food, and fun. Most importantly creating new opportunities to learn more about the creative God we serve. If you are interested in attending or serving at these events, you can find more information on the Facebook pages below.
