Did y’all know O’Riley’s Irish Pub downtown is now serving a full breakfast menu every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m?
The regular menu will be available from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m., but until then…brekkie! Add $10 and get a bottle of champagne with your table! These people have put a chicken and a waffle on top of this menu – amen and again I say AMEN and y’all…a pulled pork omelet. Take my money. Take it all!
I love me some breakfast.
Another great breakfast spot downtown is Dog House. Where else can you get smoked pork belly and sausage gravy biscuits? Hello. Nowhere.
Dog House also has un-freaking-believable breakfast burritos. If that doesn’t work, simply bathe yourself in the powdered sugar and syrup goodness of French toast bites. Heaven. You’re welcome. Opens 8 a.m. Saturday.
And of course, another Palafox favorite is New Orleans’ favorite Ruby Slipper which opens at 7:30 a.m.
You have to try the Chicken St. Charles, named for that famous avenue in NOLA, a plate full of fried chicken breast served over a buttermilk biscuit, topped with two poached eggs, and finished with a pork tasso cream sauce. I repeat…pork…tasso…cream…sauce. Ya heard? Okay, alright.
If you want something a little sweeter, then order the Bananas Foster French Toast. If you take somebody with you, one orders sweet, the other orders savory – problems of the world are solved immediately.
Happy Breakfasty Bacon-filled Brunching.
May all your Saturday dreams come true.
