Name a better way to kick off Memorial Weekend than with John Hart & The Prince Brothers on a picnic blanket at Bayview Park against the backdrop of a setting sun over Bayou Texar? We’ll wait…
On Friday, May 26 local band John Hart & the Prince Brothers will take the stage at 6:30pm at the Bayview Park & Community Center. Due to a rain cancellation, the Bands on the Bayou Concert Series added an additional concert to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend.
Presented by East Hill Neighborhood Association, and now in its third year, the Bands on the Bayou concert series showcases musical talent while raising money for six local nonprofit organizations.
Hundreds of concert goers will enjoy the free show from Bayview’s lawn on their own blankets, chairs, golf carts, or boats anchored in Bayou Texar. Local food vendors and other family-friendly activities will also be onsite.
Bands on the Bayou is completely free and open to the public thanks to the concert’s premier sponsor East Hill Automotive and over 15 additional local businesses.
Money raised by Bands on the Bayou benefits six local non-profits: AMI Kids, Bluffline, Bream Fishermen Association, Chain Reaction, From the Ground Up Community Garden, and Valerie’s House. In 2022, Bands on the Bayou gave out $24,000 in donations. You can learn more by visiting www.bandsonthebayou.
