Each Thursday, we will bring you our Weekend Top 10 list of things to do over the weekend in Pensacola. There’s always more to do and explore, but we will narrow down our Top 10 picks each week to make it easier for the indecisive. Click on each event for more information.
Saturday, April 15, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 5 Flags Speedway. This event features a car show, hamburgers and hotdogs, crawfish by Cub’s Crawfish, raffles, and a showing of Pixar’s Cars on the big screen.
Saturday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. Come with your chairs, blanket & family by land or water, and join us on the lawn at the beautiful new Bayview Community Center. Music for this show is by John Hart and the Prince Brothers is a guitar-driven, lo-fi jazz and R&B band from the Pensacola area consisting of John Hart (Guitar & Vocals), Andy Prince (Bass & Vocals), and Matt Prince (Drum & Vocals). Boat access is available.
Saturday, April 15 entrance opens at 11 a.m. This all-day cover band music festival features some of the best cover bands in the South, covering acts like Alice in Chains, Journey, and Guns N Roses. The festival will feature nine food trucks.
4. Pensacola Beach Firefighters Challenge
Okay, look. This is not really an event you can participate in unless you’re a firefighter, but there are firefighters competing on the beach…it should be on the list. Right? Right. So even if you’re not competing, watching this doesn’t seem like a bad way to spend a Saturday. Participants have an event on Friday, but the competition takes place on Saturday, April 15 with the opening ceremony at 8:30 a.m.
6. Bloom: An Event for New & Expecting Moms by Pensacola Mom Collective
Saturday, April 15, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Ascension Sacred Heart/Greenhut Auditorium. Bloom is geared towards moms, dads, and grandparents who are planning to grow their family, are currently expecting, in their first year of motherhood, or fostering/adopting little ones (ages 0-2 years). This event is meant to support, celebrate, and even spoil you!
Sunday, April 16 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in downtown Pensacola. There will be over 50 nonprofits providing information on services for those in need, entertainment for children, food trucks, car show, and more.
8. Pensacola Record Fair at Odd Colony
Enjoy a craft beer while sorting through thousands of records at the record fair. This event brought to you by Easy Going Records will be on April 15 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Odd Colony.
9. The University of West Florida Department of Theatre presents “Jane Austen’s Emma”.
Performances will be held April 14-16 and 21-23 with shows at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. All performances will take place in the Mainstage Theatre of the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Building 82, on the Pensacola campus.
10. Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz Justice Jog
April 15, 8:00 a.m. All proceeds from the Justice Jog will benefit the AWKO Justice Foundation scholarship fund for local high school seniors! The course is a 3.1-mile course and a 1-mile fun run through historic downtown Pensacola. Come dressed as your favorite Super Hero!
