Bread and Table is a nonprofit group started by Shelley and Steve Black to marry their love of food and friends in a way that combats childhood hunger in our area.
Their site says, “We believe in the power of food to tell stories, enrich daily lives, deepen relationships and forge connections with the world around us.”
In March 2017, after changing the status to a nonprofit 501c(3). This has enabled us to partner up with Feeding The Gulf Coast (formerly Bay Area Food Bank) Backpack Program!
Their mission is simple…
To support local efforts to combat childhood hunger through a series of culinary events and experiences.
There is a membership to join Bread & Table, but once you become a member, you will have the opportunity to attend any of the large group events, along with many other smaller club series.
Bread & Table is all about engaging socially around food, cooking, and the pleasures of breaking bread with friends!
Their next event is Croquet & Rosé on April 22 from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. To celebrate the 5th year of this event, they are going down the Rabbit Hole! So, don your white clothes and enjoy a game of croquet.
The main sponsor of the event is Edward Jones, John Peacock, CFPO, ChFC®, CRPC®.
