Make plans to attend Burger Battle by the Bay! The Battle will be held at Community Maritime Park on Saturday, May 6 at 11 a.m.
How do you like yours? With Heinz 57 and French fried potatoes? Jimmy knows how to take a burger and our Pensacola burger masters do, too. A day of sampling tasty burgers with views of Pensacola Bay sounds like a burger in paradise to us.
Burger by the Bay attendees will taste numerous samples of grilled burgers made by both professional and amateur cook teams and vote for their favorite!
Proceeds benefit the community service projects of the Pensacola SubWest Rotary Foundation and the Cordova Rotary Club. The Rotary has supported such wonderful local organizations like Gulf Coast Kids House and Take Stock in Children.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Kids under 12 are admitted free with a paying adult. Every paid admission includes a bottle of water Cool off with some Turtle Roll Homemade Ice Cream & Shaved Ice (available for purchase).
Judges will be Chef Darian Hernandez of Food Network Chopped fame and Executive Chef at Brother Fox; Escambia County Sherrif Chip Simmons; Co-Founder and Vice President of the Escambia County Sherrif’s Foundation and General Manager at Gilmore, Whitney Lucas; retired Waffle House President & COO Bert Thornton; Pensacola State College President Ed Meadows; and Executive Director of the Downtown Improvement Board, Walker Wilson.
Rotary started with the vision of one man — Paul Harris. The Chicago attorney formed the Rotary Club of Chicago on February 23, 1905, so professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships.

Over time, Rotary’s reach and vision gradually extended to humanitarian service. Members have a long track record of addressing challenges in their communities and around the world.

Rotary members believe in a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. There are 46,000+ Rotary clubs that work together to:

  • Promote peace
  • Fight disease
  • Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Save mothers and children
  • Support education
  • Grow local economies
  • Protect the environment
