For my family, Easter Sunday was spent like most — church in the morning, lunch and an egg hunt in the afternoon. But our eggs were not filled with little chocolate candies or money. Instead, my mom would write virtues and scripture on little, tiny pieces papers and seal each one inside a plastic egg. My brothers and I would then find the eggs and save them for dinner where we would read the verses out loud.
Thirty something years later, my mom is still hiding Easter eggs with scripture for us to find. Besides the unique Easter Egg hunt at my parent’s home this weekend, there are plenty going on around town this Saturday if you’re looking for a new egg hunt tradition — here’s a few less traditional ones happening below.

Doggie Easter Egg Hunt & Fun Day — Saturday, April 8, 3pm, Calvert’s in the Heights — Hosted by WolfGang dogs will be dressed in their best bunny attire.
