5 Unique Easter Egg Hunts This Weekend

For my family, Easter Sunday was spent like most — church in the morning, lunch and an egg hunt in the afternoon. But our eggs were not filled with little chocolate candies or money. Instead, my mom would write virtues and scripture on little, tiny pieces papers and seal each one inside a plastic egg. My brothers and I would then find the eggs and save them for dinner where we would read the verses out loud. 


Thirty something years later, my mom is still hiding Easter eggs with scripture for us to find. Besides the unique Easter Egg hunt at my parent’s home this weekend, there are plenty going on around town this Saturday if you’re looking for a new egg hunt tradition — here’s a few less traditional ones happening below.

Eggawahooza — Saturday, April 8, 11am & 12:00pm, Community Maritime Park — Featuring 50,000 eggs!

Annual Easter Eggstravaganza — Saturday, April 8, 10am, Paradise Bar & Grill – Kids hunt with the Easter Bunny, Island Times Newspaper, Egg Dying and arts and crafts

Coastal County Brewing Adult Easter Egg Hunt — Saturday, April 8, 5pm, Coastal County Brewing – Adults only where eggs are filled with free beer cards, CCB swag & raffle tickets.

Easter Egg Hunt & Bunny Drop — Saturday, April 8, 11am-2pm, Florabama – Featuring an Easter Bunny skydive.

Doggie Easter Egg Hunt & Fun Day — Saturday, April 8, 3pm, Calvert’s in the Heights — Hosted by WolfGang dogs will be dressed in their best bunny attire.
