The weather has been trying to trick us the last few days, but make no mistake, it is officially the first day of spring. Which also means it is officially strawberry picking season! Northwest Florida is home to a handful of strawberry farms that make for an absolutely delicious spring day.
Whether you’re looking for a fun family outing, a cute Instagram pic or just something different to do this spring, these perfect patches are a short drive from Pensacola and will not disappoint.
1) The Strawberry Farm, 8687 Evers Road, Milton FL
This hidden gem in Milton is the closest farm to Pensacola and loaded with yummy berries during the season (February-May). Check their Facebook page for berry updates before heading out and don’t forget cash or a check ~ $2.50/lb.
2) Brooks Farm Produce and Strawberry Patch, 5760 Griffith Mill Rd, Baker, FL.
A short 45 minute drive from Pensacola, you are welcome to pick your own berries or buy already purchased flats. Aside from strawberry picking they have frozen yogurt and desserts for snacking and often have other veggies for sale. 3) Sweet Southern Farms, 1074 Melton Rd, Baker, FL.
Sweet Southern Farms (Akers of Strawberries) reopened this year under a new name and new ownership. Located just near Brooks Farm, you’ll find rows and rows of berries to pick from. Pre picked flats available along with other strawberry treats including some unforgettable strawberry shortcake. Check their Facebook page for berry updates before heading out. Cash and card accepted ~ $2.75/lb,
