The Tall Ships® Pensacola festival returns to the Pensacola Port April 27-30, 2023. Tour the majestic ships, go sailing on a Tall Ship, or just enjoy the waterfront views and festival atmosphere which includes music, food, street performers, festival marketplace and more in a family-friendly, all-ages event.
Visiting Ships include Nao Trinidad, Pride of Baltimore II, Ernestina-Morrissey, When and If and Glenn L. Swetman. As part of the 2023 TALL SHIPS® PENSACOLA festival, many of the visiting ships also offer special sail away experiences during their stay. These opportunities put you onboard the vessel and out in the Gulf of Mexico, where you can interact with the crew and see first-hand how these incredible ships operate in the water. Spaces are limited!
Pensacola is the last port stop on the Tall Ships Challenge® Gulf Coast Series. The ships race across the Gulf of Mexico as they visit the two other participating port cities; Tall Ships St. Pete and Tall Ships Galveston.
A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Sail onboard a TALL SHIPS® PENSACOLA ship during the kick-off Parade of Sail. This Thursday event sees the visiting fleet sail thru the Pensacola Pass along the Island’s historic coastline as spectators gather to view the ship’s entrance to the event weekend.
This is a 4-hour sail and includes snacks and drinks. Must be 12 years old to sail in the Parade of Sail. Choose from one of 3 ships, Pride of Baltimore, When and If or Glenn L. Swetman. Space is limited.
The Tall Ships Challenge® is a series of annual events organized by Tall Ships America. These events happen in port cities all across the USA and draw hundreds of thousands of people to witness majestic tall ships from the age of sail and provide a unique opportunity for the participants to interact with the crews of different vessels in friendly rivalry as they race from port to port. The series began in 2001 on the Great Lakes and saw vessels from six countries and visited seven US and Canadian ports.
Since its launch, the Tall Ships Challenge® series has visited dozens of North American cities, bringing millions of spectators down to the waterfront to experience the tall ships and creating a cumulative economic impact of hundreds of millions of dollars for host communities. It has continued to grow yearly and is an eagerly anticipated event in the seaside communities that host the vessels and beyond.
Pensacola is the last stop on the 2023 Gulf Coast Challenge. The ships will visit St Pete, FL and Galveston, TX before arriving at the Port of Pensacola. In 2018, Pensacola hosted the Tall Ships Challenge for the first time and was voted Port of the Year!
