Hulu just announced that they ordered Love in Fairhope along with other unscripted series for the next year.
Love in Fairhope tells the story of five generations of women living in the quaint town of Fairhope. The official logline of the show explains that in a community where everyone knows everyone, no one knows where hopelessly romantic dreams will take them.
Reese Witherspoon is an executive producer alongside Sara Rea, Alex Baskin, Lauren Weber, Brian McCarthy, Joe Kingsley and Benton Bohannon. Evolution Media, Hello Sunshine and Tremont Road are the studios contributing to this production.
Witherspoon—known for her Southern charm—is no stranger to big screen production. Her producing credits also include Where the Crawdads Sing and Daisy Jones & the Six.
According to a producer in a recent interview, the show is set to premiere in September.
Filming for Love in Fairhope began last summer and took place through November. Producers were in town for a year and a half prior to film scouting locations and preparing to film.
Fairhope, population 23,147, is known for its idyllic downtown area with art galleries, gift shops and restaurants. Each corner of the quaint town is decorated with seasonal flowers and hanging baskets.
The small town is especially fun for exploring antique shops like Southern Antiques and Accents or Olde South Antique Mall. Tamara’s Downtown is always a good bet for lunch, weekend brunch, or dinner. And don’t forget to stop in Mr. Gene’s Beans for an afternoon coffee pick-me-up or a scoop of ice cream.
But there is so much more to Fairhope. The Arts & Crafts Weekend is going on now, but all year round there is fun shopping, bike trails, parks, canoeing trails, and an endless list of fun cafes and treat spots.
Nearby Grand Hotel Golf Resort and Spa is a favorite weekend getaway spot for locals and tourists alike. The Grand, situated at Point Clear, is part of the Marriott Autograph Collection Hotels.
We can’t wait to see Love in Fairhope on screen but in the meantime, we will love it in person for an easy day trip just an hour’s drive away. For Fairhope travel tips, we found Fairhopers online and on Facebook.
