Steve and JoDawn Brown first discovered Code Ninjas while living in San Antonio. “We saw our son come to life while he learned a lot, had fun, and was surrounded by a great community of like-minded friends,” JoDawn says.
Steve has a background in computer science and JoDawn’s background is in higher education and student affairs. When a return to Pensacola was on the table, the pair wanted to share their great experiences with Code Ninjas in this area.
With very limited opportunities for this type of programming for kids, the Browns knew Code Ninjas would fill a niche for kids interested in computers and coding.
At Code Ninjas, kids learn to code while building their own video games. Students gain problem-solving, critical thinking, and STEM skills in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment. They offer year-long programming after school and on the weekends as well as day camps and Parent’s Night Out programs.
The programs serve children ages 5-14, with a Parent’s Night Out option for ages 7+.
Steve and JoDawn both grew up in Niceville and have returned home to the Florida panhandle after a full Air Force career. She says, “We were lucky enough to land back on the Gulf Coast for Steve’s final assignment at Pensacola NAS and are ready to serve the Pensacola area.”
Code Ninjas is currently booking sneak-peek 30-minute game-building sessions. Multiple times are available on March 6, 9, 13, or 16 online or by contacting them at 850-346-8441 or by e-mail at pensacolafl@codeninjas.com.
