With the winter blues gone for good, it’s time to be creative. As a mom of 3, business owner and chronic overthinker, I crave a little creativity to help welcome spring’s arrival.
After going from decking every hall of your home to a completely clean slate, the empty space feels good. It’s clean, you’ve purged, you have organized, and then spring seems to take its sweet time making its grand entrance and staying.
So how do we create a space that feels welcoming, inspiring, and ready for this new season?
Bring on the green! Plants, flowers, real, faux, all of it. Add green into your home, I promise it will GIVE YOU LIFE!
For me, plants are my happy place and rewarding to take care of. They complain less than my kids and show appreciation with a bit of water each week.
My parents started a tradition where they gift us a plant on our wedding anniversary each year. It’s a tradition that brings us so much joy and has really curated a fun collection of plants in our home. I always thought I had to be a plant expert to keep them alive, but trust me, there are lots of great low maintenance plants that are easy to keep alive. You got this! When in doubt, mix in some faux florals and plants.
On my recent trip to AmericasMart Atlanta where I buy for the shop, I noticed decorating with more color was a huge trend. White walls and white everything was popular for so long and still is, but mixing patterns and colors is coming in hot this season and I am here for it!
Bring joy into your home through colorful decor. If you’re feeling unsure, try to incorporate color in small ways like florals, pillows, curtains, or artwork.
Want to make a bolder move? Try wallpaper, painting your walls or piece of furniture. It will get you excited for these longer days now that daylight savings has arrived.
These ideas don’t have to break the bank either. Remember to shop your house first.
Go through your own inventory and use your favorite items. Toss what you don’t love and treat yourself to something new for going through the work of organizing it all. Try rearranging your furniture to give yourself a fresh feeling and spark some inspiration. Unleash your creativity this spring!
