On March 31, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Pensacola Museum of Art, artist Angelica Tilton will discuss her experience working with natural paints, pigments, and dyes, explaining how she makes and uses paints created with organic materials found in nature.
Then, you will have the opportunity to experience natural paints for yourself, by painting a piece inspired by the Gulf Coast’s wildlife using some of the artist’s own watercolors made from natural pigments! Participants will learn how to harness the colors of various plants and clays in order to celebrate our connection with the natural world. No previous artistic experience is necessary to participate in this workshop.
Angelica Tilton began working with natural pigments while working at Historic Pensacola Village. Since April 2021, she has shared her work through social media, regional markets, and community organizations under the name Possum and Palmetto.
