Every person deserves a chance to play baseball and for The Miracle League, the season starts this week!
Guided by a sense of teamwork, sportsmanship, integrity, commitment, and community, The Miracle League provides physically and mentally challenged individuals with a safe and spirited program in which they can hit, run, and catch on a baseball field – just like other players. This program provides a unique and memorable opportunity that these individuals would not otherwise have.
Rainer Maria Rilke, a German lyric poet at the turn of the 20th century, wrote: “This is the miracle that happens every time to those who really love; the more they give, the more they possess.” Watch a Miracle League game from the bleachers and you will be moved as you have never been moved at any other athletic event. It will be unforgettable, and you will be glad you were there. Then you will want to come back. Then you will want to do whatever you can to help.
