The weather is forecast to rain through Saturday evening. With that in mind, we stopped by the Bodacious Bookstore and Cafe for inspiration on what to read. There are cozy spots inside and yummy goodies if you don’t want to be cooped up at home.
Staff host Syreeta said she really enjoyed “Someone Else’s Shoes” by JoJo Moyes. She said it’s an interesting story that begs the question, “do the shoes make the woman?” Two women are unintentionally connected when they mix up a pair of Christian Louboutin red crocodile heels. It’s a feel-good story about how one small thing can change it all.
You may remember author JoJo Moyes from her wildly popular “Me Before You”.
Another staff pick is “Daisy Darker” by Alice Feeney. Staffer Rosanne says, “There are so many twists and secrets! I loved this locked-room mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat. Agatha Christie fans, this one is for you!”
“Looking for Jane” also caught our eye. The novel by Heather Marshall is touted as a thought-provoking historical fiction about women whose lives are bound together by a long-lost letter, a mother’s love, and a secret network of women.
“The Boys from Biloxi” by John Grisham is an interesting story, although felt like one of Grisham’s longer novels. As with most of Grisham’s book, it is a legal thriller and covers the contradicting lives of two childhood friends who become adults on opposite ends of the law…and the jail.
If these selections don’t interest you, don’t worry…the bibliophiles at Bodacious will guide you to something in a genre you love.
