It’s not too late to sign up for one of the nation’s premier 15k events happening this weekend in Pensacola. The Double Bridge Run takes runners over two bridges, across Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound.
It will run from downtown Pensacola with a tour that includes the historic district, and picturesque Bayfront Parkway, a run through Gulf Breeze, and onto Pensacola Beach.
Runners and walkers for the 5k distance will start in Gulf Breeze and cross over to beautiful Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island and the Gulf Islands Seashore.
The 15K will begin at 7 a.m. at Maritime Park in Pensacola and the 5K will start at 8:30 a.m. adjacent to the Gulf Breeze High School football stadium on Daniel Drive in Gulf Breeze.
The finish line for both races will be in the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk parking lot. 15K runners are required to keep a 14-minute per mile pace.
Late Registration (if not sold out) will be at the Holiday Inn Resort Pensacola Beach at the 2nd-floor conference center Friday, February 3 from 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Cash awards will be awarded to the 15K first ($750), second ($400), third place ($200), fourth ($100), and fifth ($50) finishers in both men and women categories.
Overall awards for the 15K and 5K runner’s races including overall, masters, grandmasters, and senior grandmasters will be awarded at the awards ceremony at the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk.
New: Age group awards for 5K walkers will be awarded including male & female overall, then three deep in 20-year age groups: 0-20, 21-40, 41-60, 61-80, 81 and over.
The awards ceremony will begin at the bandshell at 10 a.m.
