Pensacola Habitat for Humanity received $25,000 from Gulf Winds Cares Foundation, which will directly benefit Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s Home Buyer Program.
Pensacola Habitat’s Home Buyer program allows qualified individuals and families to own a quality, energy-efficient, affordable home that reflects the local climate and culture. This donation will enable Pensacola Habitat for Humanity to continue expanding its services and reach more families and individuals in need.
“With the rising cost of supplies and land, it’s hard for people in our community to find affordable housing,” said Pensacola Habitat President and CEO Sam Young. “Generous donations like these allow us to continue to help those people achieve their dreams of affordable homeownership. Our work is made easier when we have strong partners like Gulf Winds Cares.”
Gulf Winds Cares Foundation is no stranger to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity. They have been seen volunteering on multiple build sites and were a sponsor for Pensacola Habitat’s most recent Annual Women Build campaign, ultimately pushing the organization over its $100K Women Build Fundraising Goal. The foundation truly knows what it means to be part of the local effort in the commitment to affordable housing.
“Affordable housing is an important topic in Pensacola and across the nation,” said Frank Giammaria, Director of Community Relations at Gulf Winds Credit Union. “People can’t thrive unless their basic needs are met. Pensacola Habitat for Humanity gave us a great opportunity to help address this issue with financial resources and our volunteer labor. Our team loves coming out and building these homes.”

About Habitat for Humanity International
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia.
