Event will be back inside Cordova Mall
The 27th Annual Cordova Mall Ball presented by Sandy Sansing Dealerships will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at Cordova Mall in Pensacola. This will be the first time the event has been held inside the mall since COVID-19 began. The Cordova Mall Ball, Northwest Florida’s largest Mardi Gras ball, will support the Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart.
Tables of eight and general admission tickets are now available for purchase. You must be 21 or older to attend, and IDs will be checked at the door. Dress is masquerade or black tie optional.
“For more than a quarter-century, this wonderful community has come together for the Cordova Mall Ball in support of the babies and children who need care that we’re humbled to provide,” said Will Condon, president of Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart. “We look forward to gathering again for a fun night that also makes such an amazing impact on the lives of so many in our community.”
Three bands, including a second-line band, are scheduled for the event. The variety showband Starz and The Tommy Morse Band will return to the Cordova Mall Ball stages, as well as a new addition to the lineup, The Six Piece Suits, which plays funk, R&B and pop hits from the ‘60s to today. The Blow House Brass Band of Mobile will join the fun as the energetic second-line band.
In addition, colorful performance artists will add to the Mardi Gras atmosphere. Area restaurants will provide food at no additional cost, and a silent auction offering some fabulous selections will be part of the fun. A New Orleans-style French Market will include face painting, a fortune teller, a caricature artist and the opportunity to purchase Mardi Gras masks, feather boas and more.
Tickets are $80 per person and tables of eight are $600 each. Tickets that were sold from Oct. 1, 2021, to Jan. 4, 2022, will be honored with no additional fee. Those who purchased tickets for the 2022 event will need to obtain a new ticket at no charge. All tickets, including re-issued tickets, will be issued in December.
The planning committee is also seeking sponsorships and donations of items for the silent auction. If you wish to donate, please contact Jennifer Saba at 850-746-1097.
Every year, Cordova Mall closes early to allow volunteers to set up for the event, an expression of mall officials’ and shop owners’ dedication to the health of our community’s children. During the past 27 years, the Cordova Mall Ball has raised more than $6.5 million on behalf of sick and injured children and babies at Studer Family Children’s Hospital.
