In an effort to give back to the community it serves, Aegis Exteriors, a siding replacement and repair company located in Pensacola, Fla., recently completed work on a home project for the Tyree family. The house completion will be celebrated with a Home Reveal on Wednesday, October 19 at Noon at the Tyree house, 660 Nix Road in Pensacola.
“We want our community to know how much we care about them, and this was an opportunity for us to give back,” said Marcus Timpner, president of Aegis Exteriors.
At the beginning of 2022, the Aegis team decided part of its growth as a company should be to give back.
“We have done a few things, but this is our biggest in the way of charity,” said Timpner. “It comes from recognition that in our success, we feel the need to help with the same skills that have made us successful.”
The Tyree family is from Pensacola. Both adults work and make a modest income; Matt works for ECUA in Gulf Breeze, and Miriah works at Pen Air in Pensacola. They have a four-year-old son, Waylon.
Waylon should be a typical rambunctious four-year old, except he is not. Waylon and his brother Jackson were born 12 weeks early. Unfortunately, Jackson passed seven days after he was born. Waylon weighed 2.4 lbs. and spent 75 days in NICU. He was born with two congenital hearts defects (ASD) and (PDA). ASD is atrial septal defect or a hole in the heart between the upper chambers. PDA is patent ductus arteriosus, an opening between the aorta and the pulmonary artery.
Waylon had surgery at six months old and must be monitored every three months for any reoccurring issues. The Tyree family has more than $500,000 debt just in medical bills. The family has been living with Miriah’s parents for the last four years and was able to purchase a house before Waylon was born. The house is an old fixer upper the couple has been trying to work on when they can.
A team member at AEGIS found out about the family and stepped in to help them complete the project and move into a finished home of their own. The project was completed with materials donated by James Hardie, a world leader in fiber cement siding and backerboard with a manufacturing plant in Prattville, Ala.; ABC Supply Co. Inc. supplied items including house wrap, plywood, 2×4’s and nails; and Westlake Royal Building Products, a vinyl siding manufacturer.
“We were able to get the materials we needed from our local suppliers, and we were able to complete the work to help the Tyree family get their life back.”
“68 Ventures is grateful to Aegis Exteriors for its dedication to their clients and for the community it serves and now, for the Tyree family,” said Brent Dudley, president of 68 Ventures. “We are grateful to have Aegis Exteriors as part of the 68 Ventures team.”
