Escambia County Teachers of the Year to be Recognized at Blue Wahoos Game

The Escambia County School District’s 2022-2023 Teachers of the Year will receive special recognition at the Pensacola Blue Wahoos game on Thursday, April 21, 2022. The Teachers of the Year will be celebrated in the pre-game festivities beginning at 6:00pm that will include a parade and on-field recognition.

“These teachers have given so much of themselves to their students, their schools, and their communities. We are honored to celebrate them at the Wahoos game and show them how much we appreciate all they do,” said Dr. Timothy Smith, Superintendent of Schools for Escambia County.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle to support the Escambia County Public Schools Foundation and its programs, including Grants for Excellence, MIRA Student Awards, Take Stock in Children, and the Golden Apple Awards, which honors each outstanding Teacher of the Year in Escambia County.

“The Escambia County Public Schools Foundation is excited to bring recognition to the Escambia County Teachers of the Year in this special way. We expect nearly 300 school district employees and their guests, as well as District Administrators and School Board Members at this fun event,” remarked Foundation Executive Director Jo McArthur.
