Escambia County School District’s 2022-2023 Teachers of the Year from each school were honored under a bright blue sky at the Pensacola Blue Wahoos Game on Thursday, April 21st.

Teachers of the Year were highlighted in a pre-game parade and on-field recognition. The Escambians, a choral group from Escambia High School, delivered a stirring rendition of the National Anthem. Alison Link, a second-grade teacher at A.K. Suter Elementary School, who is one of the Top Five Teachers of the Year, threw the first pitch of the game. Superintendent Dr. Timothy Smith participated in the parade and congratulated all of the teachers for their dedication and a job well done.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos selected the Escambia County Public Schools Foundation as the benefiting charity for their 50/50 raffle at this game. This raffle and promotions of the Foundation at the game resulted in a donation of over $100 to enhance education in our local schools.

Each Teacher of the Year received two complimentary tickets to the game. Many District administrators, principals, teachers, employees and their families, and School Board members also enjoyed the game. The ECSD delegation was treated to a 7-0 Blue Wahoos victory over the Montgomery Biscuits.
