Pensacola Mardi Gras, Seville Quarter, and Titanium Wireless are teaming up with Mardi Gras Krewes for a French Quarter Fat Tuesday Celebration on March 1, 2022, in Downtown Pensacola.

Organizers are going for a Big Easy-style Mardi Gras Festival that will include a Crawfish Boil, Cajun food trucks, king cake and beignets, and dancing and partying downtown.

Pensacola Mardi Gras President Danny Zimmern said they had been looking for ways to make an even bigger Fat Tuesday celebration.

“We have a dream to transform Seville Quarter into the French Quarter and make the Fat Tuesday Celebration bigger and better than ever,” said Zimmern. “We want to make this as authentic as possible and Krewes are going to help by taking over and theming every room at Seville Quarter.”

The Priscus Celebration, a longtime Pensacola Mardi Gras tradition, begins at 11:00 a.m. with a Jazz Royalty Brunch featuring a Mardi Gras menu, Bloody Mary bar, and crawfish boil. Krewes will take over every room inside historic Seville Quarter, transforming the historic complex into the French Quarter for the day.

Phineas Phogg’s will be taken over by Krewe of Priscus, Order of Calliope and Mystic Mafia. Krewe de Karnaval will transform Apple Annie’s. End O’ the Alley will be represented by Krewe of Andres de Pez and Gatsby Girls. Krewe of Seville and Krewe of Hip Huggers will take over Rosie O’Grady’s. Krewe of Anarchy will celebrate their way in Lily Marlene’s, and Mayokis of Panzacola will host Fast Eddies.

At 2 p.m., Krewe royalty and elected officials will be on hand as Seville Quarter is overtaken and becomes the French Quarter. The coronation of a new King and Queen Priscus will take place, and the end of the 2022 Mardi Gras season will be commemorated at midnight. Official press conference begins at 2 p.m.

At 5:00 p.m., Mardi Gras Krewes will come together for a celebration with live entertainment, including the World-Famous Rosie O’Grady’s Dueling Piano Show, the Carnival Latin sounds of Zona Libre Band, Ben Loftin & the Family, Melodious Allen & the Funk Heads, Pensacola’s #1 DJ Mr. Lao, and Latin Flavors Entertainment’s DJ David C.

At 7:00 p.m., Danny Zimmern, President of Pensacola Mardi Gras, will present awards for the 2022 Mardi Gras season, and will end with the coronation ceremony of the new King & Queen Priscus for Mardi Gras 2023.

The French Quarter night and ceremonies will peak with a Mardi Gras drag show and dancing inside Phineas Phogg’s, while other entertainment throughout the complex continues throughout the night.
