Latest update: The Great Food Truck Race in Pensacola today, Thursday


Food trucks from around the country are in Pensacola this week to film an episode of Food Network’s reality competition show The Great Food Truck Race.

The show filmed in New Orleans over the weekend before heading to Pensacola on Monday. The trucks that remain in the competition were on hand Wednesday morning at Naval Air Station Pensacola, where they fed about 50 servicemembers during a shoot on the base’s flight line.


Filming for the episode is set to take place in downtown Pensacola later on Wednesday and on Thursday. City officials said that the trucks would be parked at various locations in downtown Pensacola after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and again on Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. At least two of the trucks would be parked at City Hall, officials said.

Food Network hasn’t yet announced a premiere date for the upcoming eighth season, but past seasons have typically begun airing in August.
