New Orleans Ice Cream comes to Pensacola’s Apple Market

pgc-NOICCGood news for Pensacola’s ice cream fanatics: The New Orleans Ice Cream Co. has expanded its distribution into Florida.

Apple Market began stocking the company’s full line of products about a month ago, and according to General Manager Cory Dull, the pints are flying off the shelf. “They are selling so well that I have to reorder them every week just to keep up with the demand,” said Dull.

The decade-old Crescent City-based company is well-known for its unique flavors such as Café au Lait & Beignets, Lemon Doberge Cake, Creole Cream Cheese, and Praline Crunch. The company and its ice cream has been featured in Forbes Travel Guide, Saveur, and Garden & Gun magazine.

Apple Market has long been known as one of Pensacola’s best places to find specialty grocery products, especially local and regional products. The store also stocks ice cream from Southern Craft Creamery in Marianna, a handcrafted product made using milk from the creamery’s dairy farm, as well as Frios Gourmet Pops, made in Fairhope, Alabama. “We have been selling Frios products for about two months now and our customers love these gourmet popsicles,” said Dull.

“Apple Market’s slogan is that we are the ‘biggest little store in town,’ because we pack so much into our little store,” said Dull. “We have most of what the big stores carry as well as a lot of specialty items that you won’t find anywhere else in town.”

New Orleans Ice Cream Co. products are also available at Piggly Wiggly stores in Foley, Fairhope, and Spanish Fort, and Rouse’s stores in Mobile, Saraland, and Gulf Shores.
